Woven reed Buka-style basket; Deep round cylindrical basket with flat base, slightly flared lower sides, and straight shoulder; Round lid has short interior lip that corresponds in size to interior of basket’s mouth, with a short, wide, cylindrical knob handle; Both basket and lid are woven in plain twining technique, except for the rim of the lid, which is done in plaited technique; Design motif consists of columns of three large diamonds across entire body, alternately woven in light and dark material; Tall arced handle is attached at the mouth, woven in plaited technique on the edges. |
