Halibut hook made from 2 pieces of wood carved and joined together to form V-shaped shank and secured with cordage wrapping; Hand-wrought iron nail is secured to end of one shank with spruce root wrapping; Opposite shank is carved in half round in form of double-headed animal (1 end is a quadruped while other end has bird-like head); Heavy 3-ply cordage threaded through shank. |
