| Description | Hunting float constructed from a sea mammal (probably a seal) bladder that whose several openings are tied shut with various ropes and wooden plugs; Loop of heavy handmade 3-ply rope is attached to each end; One end bears traces of multiple concentric red bands and a single black band; For use, the bladder would be inflated with air and then tied shut and then secured to a seal or other animal that has been killed, to keep the animal from sinking while it is being loaded into a boat or hauled to shore. | |
