Description Continuous strand of sea mammal rawhide of undetermined length that is wrapped in a coil, with one end tied into a large loop and the opposite end tethered with sinew to an additional short (approx. 22 cm) length of rawhide that is looped through a toggling bone harpoon head, fitted with a small triangular iron point; Harpoon head has bifurcated proximal end, typical of the Point Barrow area.
