Description | Deep round basket with flat base and slightly flaring sides that rise to a very wide mouth; Basket is woven in coiled technique over a bundle foundation; Warp material is bear grass stems and primary weft material is sun bleached, split yucca leaves; Designs are woven of black split devil's claw pods and consist of two parallel rectilinear zigzag lines around sides of basket, which cross each other at three points to form whirling log or swastika motifs; Final rim coil is wrapped entirely in yellow undyed yucca leaves. | |
