Description | Round basket with small diameter flat base and widely flaring sides, woven in coiled technique over bundle foundation; Warp material is split cattail stems and primary weft material is peeled and split willow shoots; Designs are woven of black devil's claw and include solid black circular area in center of basket, with band of 3 large quadrupeds (deer or horse?) and 1 human around sides; Final rim coil is woven entirely of black devil's claw; Also stitched into final rim coil are blue and pale green barrel-shaped glass beads, arranged in 11 groups of 2 blue and 1 green bead each. | |
