Description | Small rectangular basket rounded corners, flat base and slightly flared sides rising to a wide, ovoid mouth; Warp material throughout basket is cedar bark; Base of basket is woven in simple plaiting technique, using cedar bark slats for both warp and weft, with the final row done in plain twining; Sides of basket are woven in wrapped twining technique, using bear grass leaves as the weft; Warps are bent over at the rim and bound into the final row of twining; Designs are woven of dyed bear grass leaves and consist of composite parallel bands in dark blue or combination of dark blue and green, all on straw-colored background. | |
