Description | Flat, paddle-shaped club carved from single piece of bone; Blade of club is flat on both faces and distal end is rounded; Blade tapers in width gradually toward proximal end and also increases in thickness; Proximal end is carved identically on both faces with a stylized Maori motif, possibly representing a human or bird face; Just below carving at the thickest part of the handle is a square perforation measuring 0.9 cm. | |
