Materials Human hair; Sennit fiber
Description Ornament made from several bundles of hair taken from the beard of an elderly man; One end of each bundle is bound with braided sennit fiber and the separate braids are then joined into a single bundle; Because the human body was more or less considered sacred, and the head was the most sacred part of the body, hair from the head of a respected elder was especially powerful; Ornaments such as these were highly prized and were worn in headdresses or attached to one's clothing or person.
