| Description | Lamp composed of two half brass spheres on iron rims, each heavily pierced and cut out with central deity figure surrounded by 4 smaller figures with elaborate network of entwining flowers whose centers are set with small polished turquoise stones; Two half-spheres lock together to form globe, with small jar-shaped oil burner suspended inside by a gyroscopic mechanism which keeps the flame turned upright no matter the pitch of the globe; These lamps were rolled and thrown during use; Short chain for suspending lamp is attached to brass loop on rim of one half-sphere. | |
