Description | Polychrome jar with round bowl and narrower, nearly vertical neck; Bowl design consists of a pattern which appears twice; The pattern has three vertical red stripes followed by a vertical orange stripe filled with a vertical row of small red dots; Next is a black "lambda" shape with black semi-rectangles above each side of the "lambda"; Below the lambda shapes are three large, black dots, one above the other; After this element, the orange stripe filled with red dots is repeated, then there is a pair of vertical red stripes surrounding four red rings; The rings sit one above the other and are connected by red lines; After the ring element is a repeat of the "lambda" design flanked by the orange, dot-filled stripe; The pattern is then repeated in its entirety; The seam of bowl and neck is indented slightly and painted red, with two black rings above the red and two below; The neck design has a thick beige ring with two black rings above; The beige ring contains a series of glyphs; The rim itself is painted red both inside and out, with a black edge. | |
