Description Pair of adult high-topped mukluks with single-piece seal skin sole creased at toes and heel; Upper portion consists of triangular piece of shaved and smoked seal skin covering front part of foot and second piece forming heel and leg portion, sewn with sinew up the sides and front; Sole and upper portion are sewn together with sinew over a dark blue wool (?) thread laid along the seam allowance for decorative purposes; Band of shaved and bleached seal skin around leg opening is decorated with 2 appliquéd bands of pendant triangles in shaved and smoked seal skin, all sewn with black/brown wool (?) thread; Pair of wide shaved and bleached seal skin ankle straps are sewn along front sides of boots, crossed over on the vamps and then threaded through pair of loops positioned along the sides just in front of the heel.
