Description | Medium sized deep round bowl with rounded base and sides that rise vertically and are slightly constricted just below the everted rim; Interior and exterior surfaces are scraped smooth and coated with a buff-colored slip; Designs are painted red; Design on exterior is a possible variation of the "rain pattern" and consists of widely spaced pairs of vertical lines that extend down from the rim and possibly join each other on the base; Design on interior consists of an all-over asymmetrical checkerboard pattern in which some of the units are rectangles and others near the rim are more diamond-shaped. | |
