| Description | Shallow round bowl with rounded base and sides, rising gradually to a straight rim; Interior and exterior surfaces are scraped smooth and possibly coated with a buff-colored slip; Design on interior sides of bowl is painted in red and is a variation of the "tortoise shell" pattern, consisting of at least two contiguous horizontal bands that encircle bowl, with each band filled in with series of parallel vertical lines; Design in center of bowl is indeterminate; Traces of red coloring on exterior suggest a possible design but its patterning cannot be discerned. | |
