Description | 3-dimensional modeled figurine of an elephant shown in seated (?) position; Exterior surface is scraped smooth; Underside is covered with red slip while sides and top of figurine are covered with cream-colored slip; Elephant's ears, eyes, and front hooves are painted black and a black geometric design extends down its back; Figurine is truncated in middle of its body, with the rear portion not depicted; Small incised hole on each side of figure's head and pair of larger holes at distal end suggest figurine may have been intended as a whistle; Figurine is unsigned. | |
