Description |
Round salad or bread and butter sized plate with flat base and very low, flaring sides; Interior and exterior are scraped smooth, coated with a slip, and highly burnished; Painted design painted in black matte slip around interior consists of very slender and partially overlapping triangular units, with groups of 3 short parallel lines pendant from areas where the triangles overlap and short L-shaped hook at end of each triangle; Design forms large negative square area with rounded corners in center area of plate; Plate is reduction fired to black-on-black color; Signature "Marie" is incised in script on base. |
