| Description | Round salad or bread and butter sized plate with flat base and very low, flaring sides; Interior and exterior are scraped very smooth, coated with a slip and highly burnished; Design band around interior rim is painted in matte black slip to produce large negative 8-petal floral motif in center, with short rectangular line extending out between adjacent petals nearly to rim; Plate is reduction fired to black-on-black color; Signature "Marie + Julian" is incised in script on base. | |
