Round dinner-sized plate with flat base and very low, flaring sides; Interior and exterior are scraped very smooth and highly burnished; Band of 24 contiguous triangles with concave sides is painted in matte black slip around interior rim, creating a pattern of negative feathers and leaving the center of the plate undecorated; Plate is reduction fired to black-on-black color; Signature "Marie" is incised in script on base. |
