Description | Effigy bowl in form of a bird; Base is flat and sides flare outward, with the rim shaped to the contour of rounded wings held at bird's side and an extended tail with V-shaped notch at its end; Modeled bird's head rises well above rim and has a very pointed beak; Interior and exterior (except for base) are burnished; Bird's eyes are incised and deeply incised lines (3 on each wing and 4 on tail) represent feathers; Bowl is reduction fired to black color; Bowl is unsigned. | |
