| Description | Round shallow plate with rounded base and flaring sides; Interior and exterior are scraped very smooth and interior is also highly burnished; Design band around interior rim is painted in matte black slip and consists of 15 partially overlapping semicircles, outlined below by a parallel scalloped line (producing a negative scalloped line around interior rim); Plate is reduction fired to black-on-black color; Signature "Marie" is incised on base. | |
