Description | Cylindrical jar with flat base and vertical sides; Interior and exterior are scraped smooth and coated with a slip; Series of 5 contiguous triangles with their apexes at the bottom and extending from the rim to the base are carved in low relief around side of jar and painted with matte gray slip; Uncarved areas on side of jar (5 contiguous triangles with their apexes just below the rim) are well burnished; Jar is reduction fired to black-on-black color; Jar is unsigned. | |
