Description Round salad or bread and butter sized plate with flat base and very low, flaring sides; Interior and exterior are scraped very smooth, coated with a slip and highly burnished; Design band around interior rim is painted in matte black slip and consists of 8 contiguous elongated triangles, each with a concave long side and laid end to end around rim, producing a negative whirling pinwheel pattern in center of plate; Plate is reduction fired to black-on-black color; Signature "Marie" is incised in script on base; Traces of original label from "The Thunderbird Shop, Santa Fe, NM" is still attached on base.
