Round salad or bread and butter sized plate with flat base and very low flaring sides; Interior and exterior are scraped smooth, coated with a slip, and highly burnished; Design band painted in matte black slip around interior rim consists of contiguous triangles that are pendant from rim, each one having one deeply concave side, all arranged to form a whirling pattern; Plate is reduction fired to black-on-black color; Signature "Marie" is incised on base. |
