Hand-carved 3-dimensional standing figure of Navajo male ceremonial patient holding Navajo basket for use in ceremony conducted on his behalf (part of complete 16 piece ceremony); Figure wears red headband; Orange shirt, white pants and breechclout; Brown moccasins and leggings with red pipe cleaners at top of leggings (representing garters?), and turquoise earrings, necklace, bracelet, rings, and concho belt and leather bandolier pouch with silver buttons; All details of figure are carved and painted; Signature "Clitso" is printed in pencil on soles of both feet. |
