| Description |
Marionette-style katsina with movable arms and legs and "puppet strings" looped through hands; Figure represents Tsuku (Hopi clown) who behaves irreverently during plaza dances to the amusement of the spectators; His torso is painted completely white and he wears blue breechclout, orange patterned sash belt, reddish orange moccasins, and black and blue neck kerchief; Bundle of blue sticks (?) with spruce boughs is worn at his waist, suspended from his shoulder like a bandolier; Small medicine pouch worn around his neck; Hair is fashioned into two whorls on sides of head; Arms and legs are attached to body with leather thong. |
