| Description | Oval basket with flat base and rounded sides that taper in at rim; Coiled on single-rod foundation; Designs in dyed bulrush include wide and steeply angled zigzag band that starts on base and continues up over the lower sides; Small, isolated triangles encircle the upper sides. [In 1977 Pomo basketweaver Mable McKay identified this design as the “lightning” design. She also attributed this basket to the Ukiah area.] | |
