| Description | Oval basket with flat base and rounded sides that taper in at rim; Coiled on 3-rod foundation; Designs in dyed bulrush include 3 multi-lined checkered bands (insect pathways) that start on base and rise diagonally to rim; Single and paired triangles and segments of terraced, diagonal zigzag lines fill intervening spaces; Cotton string "handle" is threaded through rim at opposite ends. [In 1977 Pomo basketweaver Mable McKay attributed this basket to Lake County.] | |
