| Description | Deep round wastebasket with slightly convex base and nearly vertical sides, woven entirely in wicker technique over multiple warps; Warp fibers are sumac or dune broom stems and weft fibers are natural, vegetal and/or aniline dyed rabbitbrush stems; At the rim, one warp stem in each group of warps is bent over and incorporated into a rim bundle that is coil-wrapped in dyed black yucca leaves; Base is completely purple except for narrow band in yellow and black around perimeter; Design on sides consists of encircling terraced zigzag bands in colors of green, orange, blue, and yellow; Adjacent colors are separated above and below by alternating blocks of black and natural colored wefts. | |
