3-dimensional carved figurine in standing position, representing Hilili Torikima (Twisted Face Hilili) who appears as a guard during Powamu (Bean Dance); Figure's torso and upper arms are red; Right forearm and left leg are yellow; Left forearm and right leg are blue; He wears brown moccasins, painted white dance kilt, painted yellow wild animal skin over shoulders, and orange case mask that is divided diagonally down front into blue and brown halves; Mask also has black and white beard and white tab ears outlined in reddish orange; Blue stick and bundle of mixed feathers are tied to top of mask; Artist's name is printed in pencil on underside of kilt; "19 Shungopovi" is typed on paper label glued to sole of right foot. |
