3-dimensional carved figure in standing position, representing a fictional katsina or a composite of several katsinam, as was typical of Wilson Tawaquaptewa; Figure is carved from single piece of wood except for ears, eyes, and mouth his body is painted a muddy yellow with black dots and he is dressed in white manta with painted embroidered designs in muted colors of red, blue, and yellow; Face has bulging round eyes, tubular mouth, and is painted with wide black inverted "V" band across eyes; Back of mask is white with black dots; Short ears are red and yellow on front and black on reverse; Several large feathers are tied to top and back of mask. |
