| Description | Large deep round wastebasket with nearly flat base and slightly flaring vertical sides, woven entirely in wicker technique over multiple warps; Warp material is probably sumac stems and weft material is natural and vegetal dyed rabbitbrush stems; At the rim, one warp stem in each warp group is bent over and incorporated into a rim bundle that is coil-wrapped in dyed black yucca leaves; Base is undercoated except for narrow terraced black zigzag band around outer perimeter; Design on sides consist of 4 black and natural colored checkered bands, alternating with 3 bands with alternating vertical columns in blue and natural color. | |
