Description | Stone cut print on off-white paper entitled "Birds of My Dream" depicting pair of stylized birds shown in single file in left profile; Each bird has black feathers on its back, white feathers on its head and underbelly, 2 pair of red feathers on top of its head, and apparently an extra set of legs attached to its wings; Image is printed against plain white background; "Birds of my Dream, Stone cut, #48/50, Cape Dorset N.W.T., 1961, Kovinatilliak" is handwritten in pencil below image; Chops marks of artist and of artists' co-op (Canadian Eskimo Art) and of printer are printed in red and black ink near lower right edge. This print was selected by Ruth Elkus in 1964 as her annual holiday card, printed by the Grabhorn Press in San Francisco. | |
