Description Painting on blue watercolor paper entitled "Ducks" depicting 3 vertical columns of black ducks flying in formation, as depicted in petroglyph; Cattail plant grows near bottom of painting and stylized clouds, rainbow, and sun motif are shown in background, all in colors of black, brick red, turquoise, white, and gold; Support paper is finely spattered to give appearance of gray-blue sand; The following is handwritten in pencil on reverse, "’Ducks’ (Petroglyph of ducks found in Galisteo Basin near Santa Fe, New Mex.) Joe Herrera Cochiti Pueblo $40." This painting was selected by Ruth and Charles deYoung Elkus in 1961 as their annual holiday card, printed by the Grabhorn Press in San Francisco.
