| Description | Untitled painting on tan-colored paper depicting Kiowa funeral procession; 2 men dressed in moccasins, buckskin pants with cloth aprons, and buckskin coats carry deceased child's body on stretcher, wrapped in buffalo skin; Beaded moccasins of child protrude from beneath hide; Procession is led by man wearing blue pants and black shoulder blanket and carrying pipe in beaded pipe bag; Woman dressed in black dress and carrying gray and red striped blanket follows group; Signature "Auchiah - 30" is printed in black paint in lower right corner. This painting was exhibited at the National Gallery of Art in January 1942. | |
