Description | Pair of round ceramic buttons that are concave-convex in cross-section, each with a pair of small round button holes in its center; Interior and exterior surfaces are both scraped smooth; Interior is coated with red slip and lightly polished; Exterior is coated with white slip; Painted design on exterior consists of a negative 4-petal flower outlined in black and shown on a fine-lined background; Buttons are unsigned. These were probably made by Zia Pueblo students at the Santa Fe or Albuquerque Indian Schools. | |
