| Description | Set of 8 round ceramic buttons that are concave-convex in cross-section, each with a pair of small round button holes in center; Both interior and exterior are scraped smooth and probably initially coated with white slip; Interior is coated with second slip of red and lightly polished; Design on exterior includes red rectangle in center (outlined in black), flanked by 2 different black feather motifs along short and long sides of rectangle; Buttons are unsigned. These were probably made by Zia Pueblo students at the Santa Fe or Albuquerque Indian Schools. | |
