| Description | Small round wheel-thrown jar with short footed base and rounded body whose maximum diameter shoulder is slightly below the mid-level height; Above the shoulder, the sides taper inward before rising vertically to form a short but wide neck with outward turning rim and rounded lip; Interior and exterior surfaces are scraped smooth and, with the exception of the base and extreme lower portion of the underbody, are coated with a turquoise blue glaze; Designs on exterior are painted in dark blue and are arranged in two encircling bands; Upper band encircles the neck and consists of a paired diagonal lines that form a continuous cross-hachured network; Primary band covers entire body of jar and includes various plant and marine (?) motifs that are each repeated several times. | |
