| Description | Small Bellarmine or 'Bartmann' jug with narrow base, bulbous mid-section, and tall narrow neck; Heavy handle is attached just below rim and at base of neck; Exterior is roughly textured and decorated with modeled and incised face of a bearded man on the neck of the jug and a rampant lion - the motif of the Dukes of Julich, the rulers of Frechen - on the side, all glazed a mottled brown. | |
