Description | Steel and wood folding knife, steel blade with nail mark on one side with smith mark and name "Bechon Gorgi"; Wood handle has three metal rivets holding it together with two silver sunbursts decorations on one side of wooden handle with a silver individual between them; From BRL 1982: “Folding knife, France or possibly Italy; Wood handle with applied plated iron decoration of a man (a hunter?) (sic) and two flowers or sun bursts; Iron liners; Shear steel spring and blade; Touchmark of an object on a tripod (camera?) (sic) and at least two words (indistinct) (sic) BECHON... GORC... (sic); Probably mid 19th century.” | |
