Description From BRL 1982: "Table knife, England, probably Sheffield; Steel blade, bulbous end knife blade; Fancy carved bone handles capped with bone; Iron bolster; Blade marked ‘(0)’ over ‘Cawton’; Note: Washer lists a Thomas Cawton - 13 Broomspring Lane, Sheffield, circa 1852 and 43 Radford Street, Sheffield, circa 1848-1876; A Joshua Cawton was master of the Sheffield Guild in 1736. The same or another Joshua Cawton was master in 1770; Matches table knives CAS 0389-1718, -1720 and table forks CAS 0389-1721, -1722, -1723 -1724."
