Plain steel scoop with plain shaft raised decorations on silver bolster and plain ivory handle that has been dyed green; From BRL 1982: "Cheese gouge (for soft cheese), probably England (Sheffield). Silver plated steel blade, factory made. Bulbous green dyed, elephant ivory handle, with sterling silver ferrule. Dye most likely not original. Note: engraved mark near bolster, lower case 'e' - may be owner's mark, ca. 1870-1910." |
