Description Small round bowl with rim expanded in two places to form flat handles; Center of bowl is plugged with convex silver disk, stamped "SGUAB ASI" and inscribed with two plant motifs, probably thistles; "Squab asi" is a Gaelic phrase meaning "sweep it up," an expression meaning to drink heartily and used as a toast in the Scottish Highlands; Color of bowl is mostly opaque black but one handle and edge of bowl are translucent amber.
