Description Knife with metal blade and wooden handle; Blade without decoration; Proximal end of handle carved with a lion; Middle of handle is carved in geometric designs along with the date “ANNO 1883”; From BRL 1982: “Dinner knife with carved wood handle, probably boxwood; Geometric bottom surmounted by a lion finial; Cheap, factory-made blade, sleet steel, separate iron bolster, brass ferrule; Handle marked “ANNO 1883” - probably correct; Mid-eastern style, looks like German work; May be Dutch blade (sic) and Indonesian handle? (sic).”
