Description | Crescent-shaped pectoral pendant that has been cut to shape from a larger shell; Cut edges have all been ground smooth; Holes for suspending pendant from string have been biconically drilled at each upper point of the pendant and a single line of small dots (double row near one end) has been very shallowly incised or punched along upper edge of pendant on outer surface, continuing several cm along the outer edge on one end; Small bit of cotton string and native cordage are plied together and looped through one of the suspension holes. | |
