Description Pair of wool tow cards or carders, composed of rectangular piece of leather pierced by thousands of short wire teeth and then nailed to wooden backing, with short wooden handle nailed to wooden backing; Back of each card is imprinted "E. B. Frye & Son, Wilton N.H. Mfrs. Tow card"; Used to remove dirt and twigs from wool and straighten wool fibers in preparation for spinning yarn.
