Description | Dart for hunting ducks, consisting of a long straight wooden shaft that is fitted on its distal end with a single long bone or antler point with barbs along both lateral edges and which expands in width toward its distal end before tapering to a blunt point; Below the mid-section of the shaft, three additional elongated points are secured, each curving inward and two of them barbed along their outer edges and one barbed along its inner edge; All points are secured with a lashing made from an unidentified material; Wooden shaft is stained a reddish brown color, except for narrow bands in areas of lashing and series of bands near proximal end, which are left unpainted. | |
