Description |
A: Carrying pouch for smoking pipe, sewn from a complete skin of a weasel; The feet of the skin have all been cut to form short fringes, and the head has been replaced by a strap of tanned deer(?) skin that can rolled shut and tied; B: Smoking pipe consisting of elongated cylindrical shaft carved from single piece of wood whose diameter diminishes very slightly from the proximal end to the mid-section, then gradually expands toward the distal end, which is fitted with a round, bowl-shaped receptacle; Narrow diameter bore hole extends through entire length of shaft and into bowl; All exterior surfaces of shaft and bowl are highly polished; Color of shaft is natural wood color and of pipe bowl is black. |
