Description | Front portion of two-piece rattle carved in the form of a round human (?) face; Nose and hair (?) are carved in high relief while other features are in low relief; Eyes and eyebrows are painted black; Cheeks, eye sockets, mouth, nose, and hair (?) are painted red; Remaining areas are unpainted; Rectangular piece of tin nailed on interior to produce rattle's noise; 2 small holes near top were probably to attach corresponding back portion of rattle. | |
