Description Double-blade paddle for use with kayak, carved from single piece of wood; Wide spatulate blade at each end extends from central hand grip; Each blade accounts for approximately one-quarter of the total length of the paddle; Ventral side of each blade (held facing kayaker) is flat and on same plane as lower edge of hand grip; Lateral edges of each blade expand at their midpoints to their maximum width and the distal end of each is truncated to a very shallow point; Median ridge on ventral surface of each blade extends from the midpoint to the hand grip; Hand grip, itself, is ovoid in cross-section; Surface of entire paddle has been stained reddish color; Upper edge of hand grip is either painted black or is simply stained from use; No trace of painted designs on blades; One blade is slightly narrower than the other.

Description Model of Pacific Eskimo style two-hole kayak, built with a wooden slat frame including the keelson, four stringers, gunwales, and numerous cross-ribs, all lashed together with sinew; Bow is bifurcated and stern is squared off; Entire frame is covered with four pieces of gut which are sewn together with sinew, with decorative red and blue yarn and a few feathers also worked into the seams; Edge of each cockpit and a line joining them along deck of kayak is painted red, is as the vertical edge of the stern; At least four crosspieces of gut for securing paddles and other hunting equipment are in place on the kayak’s deck, including two in the area between the two cockpits and two between the forward cockpit and the bow.

Description Model of Pacific Eskimo style three-hole kayak, built with a wooden slat frame including the keelson, two stringers, gunwales, and numerous cross-ribs, all lashed together with cotton string; Bow is bifurcated and slightly upturned, while stern is squared off; Entire frame is covered with two tubular pieces of gut which are stretched over either end of the kayak and their overlapping edges sewn with cotton string; Four cross straps of blue string for securing paddles and other hunting equipment are in place on the kayak’s deck, including two in front of the first cockpit and one each in front of the second and third cockpits; At points in front of each cockpit along the gunwales and on both the bow and stern are secured bits of red yarn and/or blue string, possibly representing bits of sea lion whiskers that were sometimes attached to full-sized kayaks; Also secured along each side of kayak is length of white cotton thread, sewn in zigzag pattern between additional tufts of red and blue yarn.

Description A: Model of a Pacific Eskimo style three-man kayak consisting of a wooden frame covered with a stretched sea mammal skin, with a sinew-sewn seam running the length of the kayak along the top; The bow is bifurcated, with each half turned sharply upward, while the stern is squared off; Six cross ties of sea mammal skin were originally attached along sides of the kayak, crossing across the top, to hold various hunting gear and other items; Series of 10 red lines are painted along each side of kayak from bow to stern and series of small red dots along each lateral edge near the bow only; B: Miniature single-blade oar with elongated leaf-shaped blade and extended handle with expanded proximal end; Single diagonal red line flanked on each side by 3 red dots is painted across center of blade on each face and 3 parallel red lines encircle juncture of blade with handle.
