Description Round blackware jar with small diameter flat base, lower sides that flare outward to a mid-level height shoulder and upper sides that curve inward to a short neck and small-diameter mouth; Interior and exterior are scraped smooth; Exterior, base and rim are highly burnished and coated with a slip; Jar is black in color and is otherwise undecorated; Signature “Tina Garcia Santa Clara” inscribed on base. Tina Garcia was the granddaughter of Severa Tafoya, the sister of Greg Garcia, and the niece of Angela Baca, all of whose works are represented in the CAS collections.
